What is the difference between bifold doors and patio doors?

Both doors usually lead onto the garden, and consist of multiple large panes of glass which layer over each other. The difference is that the glazed panels of bifold doors fold over each other and stack up, in a concertina style. Patio doors, however, slide over each other via tracks. This helps them to stow away neatly and take up very little floor space.

As a family-run business, we want our customers to enjoy where they live as much as possible. Patio doors provides this enjoyment inside and out. On the interior, patio doors create a sleek, minimalist effect that’s perfect for modern homes. On the exterior, they help to create a great social space for hosting barbecues in the Summer. No matter where you live in South West, a new set of patio doors will make a wonderful addition to your garden.

    Patio doors with slim sightlines

Aluminium is often regarded as the best material for patio doors. Due to its superior strength, it can support large amounts of glass with only the thinnest of frames. This helps to give the patio doors extraordinarily slim sightlines, which measure the distance between the panes when they slide over each other. The slimmer the sightlines, the less obscured the view is and more light enters your home.

Slim sightlines can also be achieved with uPVC or timber frames. However, for the most modern, elegant look, we’d highly recommend investing in aluminium.
